Who we are
Welcome to the World of Pratichiera: Where Parmigiano Reggiano Is a Family Story
Nestled in the fertile countryside of Fontevivo , in the heart of Parma's "Food Valley," Caseificio Pratichiera is not just a production site, but the custodian of a thousand-year-old tradition. It stands right where Cistercian monks, nine centuries ago, began transforming milk into what is now known worldwide as the "King of Cheeses."
Today, the Marchini family carries on this legacy with the same passion, combining the wisdom of ancient practices with modern guarantees of safety and quality.
Our Philosophy: The Pride of Locally Sourced Monolatte
What makes Pratichiera Parmigiano Reggiano unique? The answer lies in our stable.
We are among the few who can boast a single-milk production: we use exclusively milk from our own farm, located just a few metres from the dairy.
- Total Control: We follow every stage, from the fodder for our cows to the branding of the wheel.
- Absolute Traceability: No intermediaries, no alterations. The milk arrives in the vat fresh, preserving the aromas and organoleptic properties of our land intact.
- Animal Welfare: We believe that excellent milk comes only from animals cared for with dedication and fed a balanced, natural diet.
From the Heart of Parma to Your Table
In addition to the different ages of our Parmigiano Reggiano DOP —from the delicate aromas of 12-18 months to the aromatic complexity of the long ages over 30 months—our pantry offers the best of local tradition:
- Our creamy butter and fresh ricotta .
- A carefully selected selection of traditional cured meats and local delicacies.
Why Choose Caseificio Pratichiera?
Buying from us means supporting a short and transparent supply chain . It means choosing a product that hasn't traveled for miles, but that was born, raised, and matured under the watchful eye of those who love their work.
We're proud to bring you a piece of our history, a scent of hay and time passing slowly, a flavor that speaks of our family.
